3rd International Folklore Festival Split / August 23, Trogir

The 3rd International Folklore Festival Split will be held from August 20 to August 24, 2024, in Split. The festival is organized by the Folklore Ensemble Jedinstvo, Split, in collaboration with the Split-Dalmatia County.

The main goal of the festival is to preserve and showcase the richness and heritage of folk culture from various countries, as well as to foster cooperation and exchange of experiences among groups from Croatia and abroad.

This year’s festival features international groups from Georgia, Ukraine, North Macedonia, Australia (Aborigines), Romania, Mexico, and Uruguay. Representing Croatia will be the Chivalric Association KUMPANJIJA from Blato on Korčula and folklore ensemble Jedinstvo Split.

The festival begins with the presentation of the groups on the evening of August 19, 2024, at Zvončac, accompanied by a tasting of international cuisines from the participating countries.

The official opening of the festival will be on August 20, 2024, with a concert on the main stage at Riva (Split) at 8:00 PM, as part of the event Spli’ski litnji koluri. The festivities will start with the introduction of the groups at 6:30 PM in front of the Croatian National Theatre (HNK) at Gaje Bulat Square, followed by a parade through Marmontova Street to the stage on Riva.

Group performances will take place at various locations:

August 22: Petričevo, Podstrana at 8:30 PM

August 23: City Square, Trogir at 8:00 PM

August 24: City Center One – group parade at 10:00 AM and a children’s workshop

August 24: Gradina, Solin – festival closing at 8:00 PM
