The month May began fragrantly and colorfully in Trgor when a rhapsody of colors, decorative flowers, plants and seedlings covered the Trogir promanade as part of the Trogir – Flower Center event. Exhibitors from all over Croatia presented their botanical skills and gathered numerous plant and flower lovers.
Not long after, the town became the center of sports when the 5th edition of the Trogir Outdoor Festival began, which brought the largest number of competitors to the Trogir starting line.
For the first time, a sailing competition was organized when “Masters of Sail” organized a great regatta of the Megles 24 Cup class, which showed all the splendor of Croatian sailors with a program of six sailings. The opening of the festival was accompanied by a musical program by Fortis bend, who entertained visitors in the Kamerlengo tower.
The Outdoor Festival continued its program with the “Masters of trail” race, in which many advanced and recreational athletes tested their fitness and endurance by running around the old town center and along the paths of the island of Čiovo, catching moments of rest through the beautiful landscape, viewpoints and beaches.
A great atmosphere continued with the “Masters of Triathlon” race, in which competitors of all age groups showed their strength, courage and perseverance by swimming behind the Kamerlengo tower, cycling on the roads of the island of Čiovo and running around the old town of Trogir.
The sporting spirit remained in Trogir until the end of May, when a basketball court was set up on the promenade under the walls of Fortress Kamerlengo for the second season of the PRO 3X3 TOUR, a series of international tournaments in 3×3 basketball. This new, extremely dynamic and attractive Olympic sport is currently one of the fastest growing sports in the world.
This year, for the first time, the town of Trogir hosted this unique sports-tourist-educational two-day event and hosted top senior, junior and children’s teams.
Their masterful moves aroused great interest from the audience and the public, as evidenced by the numbers of several thousand spectators from all over Europe and the world who followed the spectacular basketball matches online and live.
